      Guys,
      good day to all,
I urgently require an advice. I was doing the head gasket job on my 2002 Isuzu Trooper V6 3.2 6VD1 engine – everything was done as it should be done: both heads machined, block cleaned, new head gaskets and new bolts (TTY ones), but I mistakenly over-torqued cilynder head bolts on left (driver side) head . Supposed to be 64 N.m., but I put 74 N.m. Nothing happened, I mean the bolts are not cracked or something… So my question is what should I do now? Should I pull them couple of angles back and re-torque them with correct force or not? Unfortunately its impossible for me to get new bolts set again together with new head gaskets as I currently live in the middle of a desert 🙂
      Thank you in advance.

If it was 60 and you did 120 I would be concerned. As it is I say leave it.

I would leave them and not loosen them as its not that much of an over-torque.

Short story – not likely it is a catastrophe.
I do not know for sure but I think there is a lot of leeway with torque specs, unless you are dealing with low torque fragile
bolts in precision aluminum equipment, like in the valve body of a transmission.
Engine blocks tend to be more forgiving of overtorque

If you did go back in to remove and retorque the bolts, it would probably just invite more problems (taking stuff apart always
seems to invite more possible problems).

After you have ran the truck a few times when it is completely warm then completely cool (like parked overnight)
and you do not notice any problems, you can call it “good”.
