I’m in Automotive Technology at the University of Arkansas now. Upon graduation, I would like to open my own shop. Can I start with a Two Bay Garage, or do I need to go bigger? B)

Honestly, I’d advise getting a job and working in the field for at LEAST 5 years before you attempt that. You could end up in way over your head if you don’t.

You know what I think your question is really relevant. It all depends on what type of person you are and how badly you want to open a shop. I personally think that you don’t have to spend 5 years in another person’s shop before you can open your own shop. The main think with running a shop is to make sure that it is profitable and you do everything you can to reduce liability.

In my opinion having 2 lifts is ideal. If on lift fails you have another one you can use meanwhile it is getting repaired. Again. For me opening a shop is a Crowning Achievement. I say go for it !
