I’ve already saved $200 on one part, sure I had to wait a week but the savings alone was well worth it.
And it was delivered to my front door. S:)

I’ve bought a few can’t really miss items online, like wheel hubs and door handles. No problems there, and cheap. On the other hand, there is a limit to parts I will buy sight unseen. Good suggestion though.

Rock auto is a great place for smaller items. Good savings too.

I always get a lot of my stuff from advance auto and pick it up in the store. Sometimes you can save as much as 40%!

I always check online for major auto parts. The local auto parts store wanted $90-$100 for each control arm. I bought 2 of them new off ebay for $80. Was a bit worried about quality but they were good. I just make sure its from a reputable part store (such as usautoparts.com) with return polices; in case they dont fit, wrong ones, etc.

Thats one thing you must do, make sure they come with a return polices! Possibly even warranties if they offer them.

I try to stick with OEM parts whenever I can, luckily there are a lot of dealerships that run internet based parts businesses. To be fair I do check with the locals first, but most of the time the e-business people do a lot better.

One thing to watch out for is shipping/handling/sales tax. Sometimes the prices may be cheaper for the part, but keep an eye on all those tacked on charges.
Kind of like buying a paperclip on e-bay for $0.01 and the guy charges $20 to send it to you!

I wish I could go with dealerships with my car. The only problem is they didnt make many spare parts for it. If I could find the part through one it would cost more then I paid for the car its going on.

So far so good with http://www.primechoiceautoparts.ca
So far have bought brake rotors, pads and a wheel hub bearing.
Will they last? Don’t know…can’t say for sure…but the savings were enormous. Wheel hub bearing for my Saturn Vue was $140 at local parts store for a Chinese aftermarket…..Wheel hub bearing at primechoiceautoparts was $37 for a Chinese aftermarket….
                            We’ll see how it goes.
UPS overnight shipping included for orders over $35….not so bad…
I’ve just used the Canadian website but I know they have an American website as well.

I hate “Stealerships” I know everybody is like well I want a Geniune OEM Part. However for some of the prices they are asking for, Forget it.
For all of my Ford Parts I need though I go straight through Tousley Ford. Its 10% Over Cost. So its alot better then what some Dealerships are charging.

But honestly, If you can get it online then do it. I don’t see a reason not too. Some sites depending you don’t even have to pay tax on it. Thats a plus as well.
