      Hi all,

I have a Nissan Sentra 1992 1600 Twin Cam that should use lead-replacement fuel. Where I am from lead-replacement fuel is becoming increasingly hard to come by. I would just like to know the effects of using unleaded fuel in an older car like this and whether or not it has any affect on the performance of the vehicle?

      Thanks all,

      Matt

Are you sure it request leaded fuel? If it does and you use it without additive it will burn exhaust valve seats. You can convert it to using unleaded by changing valve seats.

I had a 1989 sentra and it used regular unleaded fuel.
Leaded fuel went out I believe in the early 80’s check
your owners manual. It should be 87 octane and unleaded fuel.
