hey ive been using lucas oil stabilizer since my car has reached 100,000 miles i have no complaints really im just not sure if im applying it correctly…should i add my usually 5qt capacity plus the quart of lucas or should i apply 4qts of oil and my lucas? any suggestions? btw ive been applying 5qts of oil plus the lucas 6 qts total

according to lucas.example vehicle takes 5 quarts of oil.
you must subtract a quart.so 4 quarts oil to 1 quart lucas.I believe the directions on the bottle specify to add 20% of the total refill capacity. Why don’t you just use 80w90 gear lube in your engine? That’s about the weight of oil you’re running with Lucas added.
Only time I use that stuff is when an engine is badly worn.
I’ve done it both ways but the guys down here have it described correctly. I would have to say though that I use it because I live in a place where it gets hotter than heck during the summer and not that cold in the winter. when I used to live in Texas I would only use it in the summer on my suburban to prevent dry/cold starts. In the winter I would stop because of the thickness in the cold
