oil pressure

hello Could someone tell me what should be my oil pressure reading on a 1995 JGC Laredo 4×4 5.2L.I just changed rear main oil seal,oil pump,I’m getting 40psi. Thanks.

P.S. Just finish putting it all back to gether my first time all by my self : 🙂 no leaks so far im smiling.

40 psi at idle is good.

thanks ,im around 20-22.I still have one side of exhaust manifold disconnected, would this give me alow reading?

The exhaust manifold off should not affect oil pressure.

ok Thanks for the oil pressure video.I have little oil pressure so is my motor trashed? should I replace the sending unit because i have an oil leak.if I have oil pressure when i check with the oil pressure gauge then should I change the sending unit?1995 5.2 JGC Laredo

I consolidated your two posts.gets confusing. :huh: how many miles
on the motor? where and what is leaking? Remove the sending unit and
put the gauge to read oil pressure at that tap. start the vehicle and
see what the reading is. Either the engine is worn out or the oil pump
may be on its way out or clogged.The minimum oil pressure at idle is 6 psi
and 30-80 psi @ 3000 rpm with the engine at normal operating temp.

thanks, Ichanged sending unit and oil pressure is at 40psi steady at idel,60 -65 with accelleration thanks
