Should be no problem. They can always be manufactured differently. It happens to me at work all the time. One key thing to do is whenever you change your oil, take the old filter and the new filter and rub the gasket surface together. This helps to not only see if the gaskets are the same but to also make sure the gasket was not left on the filter housing. if no leak is present and the filter went on good, then no worries.

+1 different companies sometimes use different filters so you’ll probably be just fine. If it were me I would try and go with the larger filter going forward as that could mean it has more filtering material as well as a larger store of oil to help

Yup, I see this a lot with aftermarket filters.
            You’ll be fine.

Thats a great point as you always get what you pay for when buying automotive parts.

^A lot of BITOG posters prefer oversized filters, as long as they pass clearances mounting physically to the engine and don’t have leaks or startup issues(some engines can be picky), but if nothing out of the ordinary with the larger filter can be a big plus, especially for longer oil change intervals. More holding capacity, more media, hopefully a silicon ADBV but less chance for a dry start(depending, some will empty with the back-pressure while the engine sits shut off, your mileage may vary).

Should be OK as long as you have clearance to slide a tool to remove. Old Volvos B230 engines, the oil filter fits between the engine block and engine mount and installing aftermarket filter can get you into trouble because it would extends out so much that it will not give you any room for the tool. The only way to remove these was to punch a screw driver through the oil filter.

As long as the gasket mounting is the same, size is not an issue. just make sure that the old gasket came off as to not get the problem with double gasketing, and making a small nuance into a very costly repair.
