Hey guys. So this is gonna sound silly but here goes. I had my oil changed a couple months ago and being somewhat overwhelmed lately i havent checked my oil since. Well, yesterday i checked it and noticed that theres a black coating on the tip (about 1/2 an inch) of the dipstick- right where it does that corkscrew thing at the end. Now i Do NOT remember my dipstick having this before. The oil avove this half inch coating looks fresh and properly filled. I also noticed that this dipstick may not be my original based on some markings on the handle. The coating will not come off even when i try to chip away at it with my fingers. Do some dipsticks have a rubber coated tip? Is it possible that firestone (where i took my dakota) switched some parts? Whats the deal here? Thanks for any responses.

I have seen dip sticks with a blackish caoting before to make it easier to
read. This one looks kinda thick but looks like its suposed to be there.
