Hey guys. Im thinking of buys a new honda accord lx-s 4 cyl with the 6 speed manual. First new car and i want it done right.
Congrats!
Is it a better idea to leave the factory fluids in it until its broken in or change it as soon as i get it in the drive way?
Leave it, it’ll be fine…
I want to put in mobile 1 full synthetic 5w-30 and lucas synthetic oil conditioner.
Too thick!!! check the service manual! My parents honda civic recommends 0w20! Anything rougher and it runs like crap! A mechanic once used used 5w30 in it, it was horrible! Only use what honda recommends, all be it, 0w20, 5w20, 0w30 or whatever the book says!!!
Also you don’t need oil treatments… Just stick with the recommended oil and change intervals, that is the best thing you can do! 😉
Used lucas on my ’94 mazda b2300 (ford ranger) and the engine runs smoother than I want it running mint off the lot as long as i can.
Big difference there buddy 😉
Oh and any suggestions on tranny and differential fluid too? I want it all synthetic if i can.
ONLY use synthetic in these cars, unless you want to void your warranty, also with a manual you should be fine until about 100k miles, again, check what the book recomends for exact miles and things… From my experience only use Honda tranny fluid…
I know sure as heck there is nothing better than motorcraft tranny fluid (that I’ve tried anyway) in my mtx-75, and that is what it recommends.
