      🙁 Is it worth to rebuilt a trainy ( Odyssey ) I mean I dont know how expensive are the parts to rebuilt it and if Iam able to do it, cause I have never rebuilt one, will I need to buy specialty tools, Eric I know you rebuilt yours please let me know brother or somebody out there thanks fellows and cograts eric 4 this nice web site.

        You may want to get a Honda OE rebuilt transmission.
        Rebuilding a transmission is not for the DIY.

          Yes you could, however you will need spend days researching the tip and tricks and upgrades that will be required to complete the job. Honda automatics are very frustrating because you cannot easilly remove and repair the valve block if it still does not shift properly after your repair. You also need to have a good idea of how it works because unless you find the faulty part you have probably wasted your time.

            yeah, rebuilding a tranny is definitely not for your average DIY’er

              +1. The last trans i rebuilt was a nightmare. Never again.

                I do not recommend that you rebuild the transmission yourself if you don’t have experience with automatic transmissions and even then I’d be cautious. There is too much risk of failure not to mention the special tools required, a clutch spring compression tool comes to mind first thing. You’re much better off picking up a reman and putting it in yourself if you’re looking to save money but even that is a big job since you have to drop the subframe to remove the transmission which requires an engine brace. It’s a pretty big job just to drop the transmission to exchange it.

                  Thank you’ll guys 4 the recommendations, I feel discourage 4 the money I’ve lost already on the van, but at least I wont be expending more on it, it works good in short distances at least to take me to work, The main reason I bought it, was for family but the guy that sold it to me, got me really good, showing me repair bills ( trainy rebuilt, and Egr fixed ) I guess it was nothing but part of the trick, I got experience now for the next time I get a car, 4 now I’ll keep driving the van short distances ’till it dies completly, I know its a lot of labor and I wont mind but yes to get a good rebuilt trainy is at least 2 k., Anyway everything start falling down,,,,the rack n pinion, cause i replace the p/s pump 3 times and it was just a little improvement and yes Eric was right when he gave me that advice ( rack n pinion ), the catalityc C. and the compressor., bye bye and thank fellows
