ODB2 Plug in melted… Help

      Quick question.. i had a small car fire a month ago.. i notice the port for the ODB2 frayed a little bit.. not bad.. but prolly wont connect anymore. what is the process for this??? can i just go to a junk yard and swap out the port??? whole new harness? can somebody please shed some light ?? 1999 lincoln towncar

        You could go to a salvage yard and pick up the harness+
        connector. The solder the wires and heat shrink the wires
        in a convenient spot. This way everything stays factory.

          I agree…If i might add though……do one wire at a time even if the wire colors are the same.

              I dunno how much a salvage yard would charge you for a DLC but i can’t see it being very costly at all, maybe even free cuz they should have lots of them. Solder and shrink tube isn’t that expensive either.

              I would say that you should be able to repair it for the price of a case of beer.

                Assuming you have a soldering iron that is. Even then, a cheap $20 iron is all you need.
