There are some noises come from under the hood of my 2005 Mazda Tribute.

When I put on Park and Neutral, there is no noises.

Unfortunately, noises start coming out when I put on Drive and Reverse, even I don’t let the car move.

and, the noises start to get louder when I turn heater/AC on.

Has anyone had similar experience? What did you do?

      Thanks

      Shen

check your motor mounts. also check for loose or
        broken brackets.

What kind of noise is it? Is it a squealing noise? You said it gets louder when you turn the AC on. My car had the same problem. The belt that drives the AC compressor was worn so I replaced it and that took care of the noise.

Thanks for the reply. it is not a squealing noise. The noise is more like low pitch sound. When you say A/C belt, did you mean serpentine belt?

Some cars have an ac compressor that’s driven by the main drive belt, but on my car it’s driven by a separate belt. Do you think you could get a sound clip and video of the noise?

Okay, I’ll try to upload one this weekend.

Noises are difficult to diagnose without hearing them. If you can, upload that clip. In the mean time perhaps this video can help.

Sorry for this super late response (I just graduated from college!). Yes, the noise is still here. My judgement right now is the noise coming from some loosen pulley (like idler pulley maybe? correct me if I am wrong). Anyway, here is the video (hope you guys will come back to review it), and please tell me as much as you can.

                      Thanks

ps. I am going to replace the brake pad, rotor and caliper since they have been all worn out.
