There is a humming noise coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle. I do not hear it when the vehicle is running. When I accelerate over 20 km per hour I hear the humming noise. It sounds like something to do with a pulley. Please let me know what you think ? Thanks in advance.

Just to clarify, you can’t hear it when idling, but you can hear it at around 20 km/h and above. Without hearing the actual noise, my guess is possibly a worn wheel bearing. Does the noise pulsate? like “wuh wuh wuh wuh”?

Wow. That’s the sound that it makes. I hear it when I accelerate. The sound is more like wuh, wuh, wuh…..

Update: When I turn the vehicle on I hear the humming sound. I know that it is not a wheel bearing issue. I am going to check the belt, all of the pulleys connected and the tensioner.

The first thing I would check would be the tires. You’d be amazed at the noises a bad tire can make. You can rotate the tires to see if the noise changes or goes away to confirm. More info in this article.

                  Hi, ETCG COMMUNITY

In my previous post I wrote about a ” woo, wooo, woo ” noise coming from the front of my vechicle when I would accelerate. It has been so cold lately that I have not been able to look into the issue. I have been driving around with the heat on Full Blast !

Strange enough…. The noise has almost totally gone away. Please let me know what you think !

                  Thanks in advance.

It sounded like a worn wheel bearing would be making that kind of noise.
