No Vtec pop on my D16Z6

I have a D16Z6 vtec motor and a while back had some repairs to my engine wire harness. I should say when I bought the car the majority of the wiring was pretty shady but everything seemed to work fine. Vtec pop was hard and could definitely feel it. Since having the repairs done vtec doesn’t pop cigerete lighter nor the radio. not super concerned about the lighter or radio but want vtec to work like it did prior. I have tested the oil pressure portion as well as the solenoid itself as showed in one of scanner danners videos. The test was to see if the vtec system mechanicaly works the way it should but is there a way to test to see if electrically is being told to open either by the computer or by power probing the wires to see if the harness itself is working. Any help would be great and thanks in advance.

I would try to hard wire a light to the plug, and see if it lights up once you hit vtec range…maybe a fuse, something in that nature

Well as far as my radio and lighter they new work. Some reason either the fuse was missing or put into the wrong slot. Vtec still doesn’t work though. Never would have thought it would have been a fuse since everything worked before repair and then they didn’t. But thanks for the info.
