The car is a pontiac grand prix 2008. On the dash it says charging system failure, battery saver mode on. My code reader can’t link with the car’s computer. I know the reader works because it works on the other car. The lights on the dash work but the horn is very very low and headlights don’t work,dome lights work, locks don’t function either. We cleaned all the battery connections. O’Reilly’s charged the battery. Their tester says the battery is good but it’s like 6 years old? Jumping the car doesn’t work either. The starter clicks but thats it.

If your code reader is the same as the ones that Autozone and Advance Auto parts use, you need to go to a repair shop to read the codes for you. :stick:
If it’s easy problems, that’s all you would have to pay the shop to do.
Just an update.I found out it’s the battery it won’t hold a charge and to think O’Reilly’s told me that battery tested good.
I was thinking battery based on your description. I often hear of auto parts stores testing things and saying they’re good only to find out later that they’re bad. My point, don’t trust the auto parts people to do your testing. In the article Collage man posted there is detailed information on battery testing for future reference.
