I don’t think the continuity test was a valid test.
What I want you to do is take the distributor cap off, turn key on, take a jumper wire from the white igniter wire and momentarily tap it on the battery (with the white wire still connected to the igniter)negative terminal observe the coil for output spark.

Does it have a momentary spark as you tap the battery ground cable? You may hear the fuel pump cycle and the injectors tick.
