check engine light on? get a spark tester and crank the engine to make sure you have no spark before you start putting parts in on an assumption. check all cylinders._x000D_

Actually, if that car has the waste spark system, with the 3 coil packs, a quick and dirty way to check for spark is to pull the plug wires off one of the coils, and see if spark jumps between the two towers.

Did you do any research to see if the crank sensor can be ohmed out? They are best tested with a scope. Also, if you do have a crank sensor failure, you usually loose injector pulse width.

Yea those are waste spark coils if I’m not mistaken and if memory serves there were issues with ignition modules and crank sensors on those.

I do understand the urgency to get the problem solved, but quickly replacing parts on spec seems contrary to many of the discussions we have had on this forum. I would spend a little more time on diagnostics before moving forward. I would put a vacuum gau

Given that you don’t seem to have the time and perhaps the equipment to diagnose it you might be better served taking it somewhere as you suggest.

If you do get it fixed professionally, please post the eventual result back here for all of us to see. Reading through these threads is interesting but much more rewarding when the problems are carried through to an answer.
