No Power

      Working on sons 2001 golf gti vr6.Ran great got off work and really having fits.Wont rev up past 2500 rpm.Has no power.Took compression check and everythings fine.Bought new wires and plugs.Disconneted exhaust thimking converter was clogged no difference .Sprayed water on coil packs to see if they arched and no.Took plug wires off one at a time from plug side and there was no difference.Want to run a fuel pressure check but dont know if I need anything special for the vw golf gti with the vr6 motor.Gotta get this fixed soon.Can anyone give me some answers

        Is the check engine light on? if so have them read at an auto part
        store for free. Then post any codes.

          What’s the mileage? High? It could be the fuel filter needs changing. This cause my old sunbird to loose all power to its turboed engine. These cause all kinds of trouble when clogged or rusted beyond recognition(mine was)

            Even a small vacuum hose leak can cause the same type of loss- Check near intake area for hissing sounds.(rev up throttle)
