Yesterday, the check engine light illuminated. Today, I went to pull the codes and received a “No Link”
result. I believe there possibly is a blown fuse but have not checked. Wanted to post and see if others have had the same issue and what was done to resolve it.

Check all fuses. Check pins for voltage. Try another scan tool..

Also, what kind of vehicle is this… I have worked on Chyslers where I could not get a connection to any scan tool and used they key on-off technique to have the codes displayed on the dash…

Worst case it can be a bad ECM….

what vehicle? It could be a connector issue, fuse problem
          or ecm problem.

I have the same issue with Mercury Villagers,, my Genisys won’t connect to save my life, I have to use the older OTC Enhanced 4000 on them.

Have you used this tool to connect to this ECU in the past? How is your battery voltage?

Guess I got ahead of myself here. It’s a 2004 Subaru Forester, non turbo. My code read is a MAC.
I checked it this morning on my 99 F250 Super Duty and it works. This is the first check engine light in the 5 years I have owned the car. Battery is good. Engine starts OK and runs good. I checked all fuses under the hood and they check good. It’s been cold here in the minus temps. The car’s parked outside. I’d suspect that the cold night temps have something to do with it.

Quick update: I used another code reader, could not connect. There is no power to the DLC.
Fuses ok under hood and dash.

This is the pinout for your model

This is the wiring diagram showing where the wires go from the ODB II connector.

Thanks…Is there a difference with the DLC and wiring between the turbo and non-turbo cars? Mine is non turbo.

Should not be any, manufactures try and make as much as the platforms the same as possible, it saves them tons of money.
