No electricity after battery reconnection SOLVED!!

    Hello everybody,
    I’m working on a friend car (a Euro Chevrolet Captiva), you can see engine pics on DriveTribe (Stay Dirty section).
    After a lot of job (new head, timing belt, exhaust, turbo etc) I have reconnected the battery. But didn’t happened what was expected.
    No little spark when reconnecting the battery
    No electricy in the car, no sunroof light, nothing on the dashboard too. The Darkness…. 🙁

    Fuses are ok, with the tester, I only have continuity only with the most important values on the tester dash.

    This car was disassembled since 4 years, and it was not me who worked on at this moment.

    Do you have ideas except a ground wire disconnected?

      Use a voltmeter and test your you’re battery to be sure it has 12V. If so now put the leads on the cable ends themselves and see if you get the same reading. To test to see if your ground is open. Leave the ground lead connected to the negative post of the battery and use the positive lead and touch something metal on the frame or the engine. If it shows 12V then the ground wire is open or disconnected. Also did you do a good visual inspection of the battery cables to make sure they are connected to their respective places.

        Are you using the same old battery that’s been sitting around for 4 years while the car has been disassembled?

        So
        Visual inspection, cables are correctly connected.
        on the battery 12.4V (I know it is a bit weak, but that’s not the problem at the moment)
        with cables connected 12.4V on the cables, so connection on the battery is correct, correct?
        With negativ tester lead on ground battery and positiv tester lead on several position in the engine bay, the chassis, the engine itself, 0 V.

        So it is not a ground connection problem, am I right?

        (honnestly, this sort of electrical issue is really not my favorite taste. I think It will be very learning for me I find the solution with your help!)

        Solved!! it was a misconnection on the fuse box, juste a wrench 10mm and it is done.
        The engine start well et and run well.

        But I have a powersteering issue. The pump make a lot of noise, and I have several hard points when I use the steering wheels. The pump has leaved 2 years out of the car, without fluid in. SI I’m asking if the corrosion have damaged it. What do you think?
