I have a 2003 VolksWagen Jetta 2.0l GL. When I bought it I had problems right off the bat. First the windshield wipers wouldn’t work 100% of the time, sometimes they would lock up on the windshield. Also the key-fob would lock all the doors except the driver’s door.

So I took it in for service. 2 long weeks later I get the car back and it has the same problems and more problems. Now none of the windows work by any of the window buttons in the car, the doors lock then immediately unlock themselves, none of the interior lights work at all (map lights, dome light, etc), and the key fob now does nothing at all.

I picked it up from the dealer and I get on the highway, roll down the windows, use the dome lights, then about 5 miles down the road I realize the windows wont roll back up. Thats when I realized I had all the problems.

I am wondering if these are all connected somehow? The lights on the door’s buttons still illuminate. Thank you in advance

start with checking all the fuses for those circuits.what If you
took the car in for service on the problems you are having. it does not
sound like the shop fixed anything.Take it back to the shop. heres a link
for a wiring diagram.also heres one on electrical troubleshooting.

Thanks for the reply. Just as an update in case someone ever has a similar problem it turned out to be a blown fuse #14. I had originally pulled the fuse and looked at it, but it looked like the metal inside was still connected and the fuse looked fine. Took it to a mechanic and he used the power probe and found it was bad.

Now the fuse keeps blowing at what seems to be random times. So I have to figure out when it blows and why it blows. so far no luck

A circuit breaker would be good to have here, I show how to use one in this video. Once it’s installed disconnect components in that circuit one by one till the circuit breaker stops tripping. If I were you I’d focus on the drivers door lock actuator for starters.

You need to find out whats on that circuit.then
start isolating. you may be able to work one device
at a time to see when the fuse blows. keep us posted.
