Well a couple days ago i was trying to start my car. To go to work and my battery was dead. So i jumped started it . After I started the engine i let run alittle bit before shutting it off. And then went to the dealership to get a new battery. Installed it and now the starter doesn’t work. I removed it And took it to autozone for them to check it. Turns out it was bad. Is it possible that the starter could just fail like that. It only made a one click sound from the starter. I pray the engine doesn’t have mechanical damage. Im afraid to even rotate the engine to check.

I guess you haven’t put the new starter on?
I’m guessing that you are suspecting the cam belt has snapped or the engine has seized?
If so try turning the engine manually
I’m turn the engine today and see. But i had the starter checked out and was bad so I ordered a new one so its on the way. The engine has oil in it so i can rule out engine problem but im just really stressing on it
Probably is just the starter and yes they can go just like that without warning.
I’m guessing it’s an auto?
If it was manual you could try bump starting it
Love those Accord’s…I have an 87′ Accord with 265,000 miles awesome cars…I am also looking at replacing the starter on mine and they do go out without warning….but a bad starter is not going to hurt your engine…most of the time when your starter quits, sometimes a simple tap on the starter it self will get it to crank…still need to replace it…That being said I installed a new starter in my Dodge Truck that worked for a couple of days and then quit on me had to tap it every time to get it to go…took it back and got another one problem solved…
Well I rotated the engine today and it rotated smoothly I didn’t have to take the spark plugs out. So I don’t have to worry about the engine being locked up. It just got me worried about my engine after seeing the civic that Eric was diagnosing. But then again that car ran out of oil. When my car has aways had its regular oil changes. I guess it just had me thinking because my engine made a similar click. As that one did. Being alittle paranoid I guess. but the replacement starter should be here next week. So i can install it and be able to drive the car again.
