no crank no start 01 passat

Hi. I have an 01 passat that I was driving it started smoking so I parked it. One day the engine did not start. I can hear a click. But like your video said no crank no start. I got the battery checked. .and its good. My sunroof and windows are open, key opened all windows from door. Drivers side door latch wont close its broken off from door from people working on window so much. Is this an alarm issue that shut car down? Or what can I Check on my own. I am not a mechanic. Also only 1 parking light came on . I will try to get a picture of battery cables

You need to check if there is power going to the starter.
You could also try putting the car in neutral to see if it will
start. also check that the engine is not seized.
