I am (hopefully) coming to the end of a 4 month long engine swap (blown head) and have finally been able to try and start it, put key in ignition, turn key on, lights and such come on, go to start and single click. It’s higher in the engine bay, so I know it’s not the starter. I short the starter relay and no spark. Short positive relay pin to battery and that completes a circuit. Not a dead battery issue cause I just bought a new battery today. So I’m pretty sure the issue is on the negative end of the relay. I just have no clue where to go from there. Any guesses?

Before you go any further, put a wrench on the harmonic balancer and make sure the engine is free and not locked up.

If its an automatic did you have the trans out with the torque converter?
If so you may not have seated the torque convertor all the way and you will
just get a click. Been there done that. Before going through that. Either pull
the starter and see if it works or check for 12v at the starter.

Fixed the issue. Starter needed to be grounded. Guess my engine block wasnt? Anyway it turns over but now the fuel injector for injector one is pissing gasoline onto the engine block 🙂 but thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated 🙂
