Well I wanted to do a relative compression check just for the heck of it. (Pedal to the floor crank engine)
Once I did that, I cycled the key once, cranked it over. The engine immediately started and reved up to 5-6k rpm. I was quick enough to shut it off though..
I tried again with the key in accounting mode and same thing happened.. well. There goes that compression test I wanted to do 😀
The pedal was all the way to the floor btw.

But that sound if the 2.7 v6 revving up it, sounds soo good even with 210000km on it.

Also I did see this thread before I did this, and I’m lucky I saw it.

Just curious, why didn’t you just pull the fuel pump relay or fuse?

Didn’t really have the time to do that, I just wanted to hop in and listen to the crank sound of the engine.

Lol I thought it was strange that you have the ability, knowledge and equipment to do a relative compression test and didn’t disable the fuel pump! 🙂

Lol, I just wanted to hear how It sounded when cranking before I go digging into things, sometimes it’s a long crank time to start it into morning.
I do hear the engine ticking at idle. -before I tried this.

I also just wanted to make sure the (clear flood mode) was there because of the ticking, I wanted to crank the engine to build oil pressure before I start it.
And I wanted to do a compression check just to make sure the head gasket isn’t going or the valves, piston rings, etc.
It’s at 210,000km so just wanting check.

At least I can check the exhaust sound off now 😀
It does make a turbo sound aswell at full throttle on the highway, or when it’s under load.

Having a labscope to do a relative compression test is awesome. Especially comes in handy on transverse engines where it is a pain to remove the plugs and coil packs… the 1MZ-FE with individual coil packs really comes to mind…

Yeah sparkplugs are a pain on my car. I have to remove the intake manifold to remove the rear three sparkplugs, or the rear bank firewall side. Which is why I wanted, to do the clear flood mode. It’s that or the fuses. I just don’t want to dig into stuff I don’t know like the fuses.. sense yesterday, I won’t do the clear flood anymore till I know it’s actually in my car lol.. I rather not blow my engine yet
