1999 F-250 6.8l V-10
Just noticed on the last trip that if the engine in running at higher RPM (3500-4000 RPM) the ‘battery’ light comes on and I see the electrical system drops to about 12 volts. Normally it’s above 13.5 volts.
It has the original alternator in it, never had any problems up until now. The serpentine belt was changed about 3 years ago no squeaking from it and it seems tight.
Do you think this is an indication the alternator is starting to fail or do you think there’s some other problem? Thanks in advance,
Gord
