Nissan QR 2.5 using oil

Hi all My mates partners Nissan Xtrail is useing a severe amount of oil it recently had a new head gasket its done 190,000 KMs it was burning oil before the gasket was done but was never this bad it used half a liter gon a 260 Km trip and on bigger trips like 500km it uses about 1 1/2 liters we have put thicker oil in still no luck.

it has no symptoms of loosing oil no smoke no smell no leaks no power loss just disappears

I would suggest a compression test.

ok what should i be looking for loss of compression abnormal readings or high readings ?

ok thanks would the engine run bad if it had low comp this engine runs like a swiss clock but it looses heaps of oil i don’t get it

There is a TSB out on the 2.5 engines.
