Nissan Matic-D fluid vs Dexron III

So I am working on a 1997 Nissan Maxima and I am planning on doing a fluid change. I read on forums that Dexron III is the same stuff and is much cheaper. So I wanted it from the horses mouth, so I called my local Nissan Dealer who stated “Matic-D is the same stuff as auto parts store Dexron III, Nissan just rebranded it.

Figured I would toss this here to hopefully help out somebody else.
