Nissan Almera N16 1.5ltr 2005 DTC P0340

I would get an intermittent p0340 dtc while driving
I checked the waveforms on both cam and crank, and all seemed well
what I did not get was the phase relationship of these waveforms
but I was talking to the main Nissan dealership, and they new straight away what was the problem
The timing chain was stretched slightly,
I replaced the timing chain,about €200 worth, and over a days work.
All is well now, no return of DTC in the last 6 months or so

ps:
I believe Nissan has a software update for this, to allow more tolerance of the phase relationship of cam and crank ,I don’t know how true this is, as I cant get the info from Nissan
