    Today while riding to work, a thought came to my mind.

    When rebuilding an engine; maybe some of you have noticed or maybe I just thinking bananas; the piston rings and bearings and all other stuff that needs carefull measuring, have you found your self saying something like

      I think the reason for the looser tolerances inside of newer cars is due to the fact that newer stuff has a lot of aluminum in it, which expands when hot more than cast iron. As for so many parts being made of plastic rather than metal, I think that’s more of a cost thing, since plastic is easier to work than metal, therefore making the cost of the part itself less.
