Hi everyone,
My name is Ken. As the title suggests I am new to auto mechanics. My regular day job is as a special education teacher in Kansas as well as serving in the Kansas Army National Guard. I saw Eric’s videos on youtube and after having learned a lot from them I decided to check out his website and learn more. My goal is to be able to do my own car maintenance that is normally expensive to have someone else do (i.e. timing belts/chains, water/fuel/oil pump replacement, air conditioner repairs, brake changes, etc). I already have a bachelor’s in education and am working on my masters as well, so it may be a bit strange that I am considering taking classes at a local community college to get a certificate in auto mechanics technology after I finish my masters in special education. I want to be able to maintain and fix my own vehicles, and also eventually work on cars during the summer, after work, and on weekends for extra income. As a young teacher (I’m only 24) I have pretty good job security, but mechanics interests me and I also enjoy working on cars, so I figure why not do it!
