New Tires Mixed Speed Rating

Just purchased 4 new tires from my Honda dealer. Got the Continental Pro Contacts for my 2008 Honda Civic LX sedan with 150k miles on it a few days ago.

But I just noticed that 3 of the tires are labeled 205/55/16 91H but the 4th tire is 89H.

Is this going to be a problem for me? Should I contact the dealer and ask them to swap out the odd tire so all matches?

the 91 tires will take about 100 pounds more load, around 1358 pounds. So they’re a little bit sturdier. I would ask for a matched set, which is more important if you’re going to be carrying heavy loads.

Just heard back from the dealer, they are going to replace the odd 89H tire with the 91H tire on Monday.

What he got should be okay for a Civic, not much load you can place on one 😛

I’m glad they’re taking care of that for you. I don’t think it would make that much difference on your vehicle but if you’re going to drop that kind of money on 4 new tires, you want them to be a matched set.
