What fuel pressure do you have going to the carb? I know they usually like around 6psi.

And did you do any other checks to see if your running lean such as looking at the plugs?

You may have to wait for an old school guy to step in as all my training is with EFI and im only know the extreme basics on carbs, sorry.

What do you mean by ‘runs lean out the exhaust’? I don’t see how exhaust smoke would show you a lean condition. If anything, having excessive black smoke out of the exhaust would suggest a rich condition, but I can’t think of any exhaust emissions leading you to a lean condition without a gas analyzer. If you provide more specifics on how the vehicle runs, we can probably give you more insight. Unless you mean it’s misfiring? Help us help you bud.

Going through the carb is almost a maintence item so that may not be a bad idea. I hope to make some carb rebuild videos at some point when I get my hands on some. Don’t forget to check and fix any vacuum leaks.
