New Car Alternators?

Has anyone heard anything about the newer cars alternators not being able to recharge a low battery? Someone I work with said that the newer cars have alternators that won’t recharge a really low battery. If one needs a jump, it will keep the car running, but if you shut it off, it won’t restart until it gets charged up with a battery charger. This doesn’t seem right to me, but who knows? Just wondering if anyone else has heard anything about this? :huh:

I have heard that also,something about alternator getting too hot as it tries to charge a low/dead battery…it is best to get a dead low battery on a charger as soon as you are able to.
