Hey alll, just finish my 01m to 02j (auto to 5 speed) swap in my 2000 beetle glx 1.8t. Everything is working great except i have CEL that I didnt prior to the swap. The CEL is due to a P1691. I cannot figure out what this is from though. I dId have to snip some wires and modify a relay socket, but all those things where just for a clutch pedal, reverse lights, amd starter cancel. The only thing that I can think is that the ECU is still looking for the TCU maybe. But the ECU is from a manual model of my car so not shouldnt be. Any help would be great. I can supply a VCDS scan of anyone wants.

      Thanks

Yes I knew what the code was. So since I didn’t touch any wiring that had to do with the instrument cluster, does that mean that the cause could be the ECM I swapped in?

          Thanks
