Eric the car guy made a video manual on s 2007 Chevy Tahoe 5.3L Engine Replacement. You need to buy
It. Click on the VManuals tab. And engine still and engine. But you might need a car repair manual too. Click here to find your complete manual repair guide.

When doing an engine change over like any other job, being organized is key. You need to used the right tools and follow the manufactures instructions. I really am seeing how alot of tasks are not completed properly because people are going outside of the rules.

Keep in mind that in most cases the Engineers have found them best ways to do things on a vehicle for the most part. A lot of the guess work is eliminated based on following orders. What I like most about Automotive Work is when you follow the directions 99.999 % of the time thing work properly.

Cant remember if that year had the “fuel spider” but I think it did, change that. Either way, known for intake gaskets so it is easier on the floor rather than in the truck. “fuel spider” is if it has the fuel lines under the intake manifold, bad design in my opinion, don’t fix the spider, just replace it. Other than that it is an easy job. with air tools and knowing what you need ahead of time you can get the engine on a stand and the coolant is still steaming hot.

This video won’t apply and the price is actually $4.99 and $6.99, it’s a misprint that’s being corrected.

As for the 4.3, those engines are a PIA. Mostly because of clearance issues in that engine compartment. You may be in for a fight. It can be done, just allow yourself plenty of time.

I did not know the engine change on only 11 years later. But, the tools needed will be in your manual.
