My 2014 Chevy Malibu is in need of two front rotors and all of the pads need to be changed out at 43,000 miles. It seems immature for having rotors warp for me, but I have to admit, I am hard on my brakes.

I notice that there’s several different choices especially for rotors, mainly economy/cheap, daily driver, and performance. Is there a return on investment when it comes to splurging on the rotors or even the pads?

        43000 sounds about right.
        Its thickness that counts.
If you can get Brembo, the feel will overcome the cost.
        Trust me 🙂

There isn’t a huge difference in rotors. Usually as long as you go to a mid-grade line you’re getting ones made to manufacturers spec. The cheap ones are usually made like crap with uneven material thickness etc.

Pads are the best way to improve your braking performance. I would suggest doing a bit of research and getting the best ones to suit your needs you can afford. I would steer clear of the high performance ones, you’ll usually get a fair amount of brake dust and noise from the friction materials as a result of their intended application.

Personally I run Raybestos Pro Grade rotors and their EHT (Enhanced Hybrid Technology) pads.

            Just to clarify.
            Brembo make an OEM range.
So they are standard pads and discs nothing fancy or racing.
I use them on the two cars I have. And my motorcycle, just pads on the moto.
They have a pad finder thing on the Brembo website.
            Just good quality.
The hondas have electronic brake assist so you will not make a difference fitting anything fancy anyway.
An I drive the CRV in the mountains and like the feeling of the bite and lack of fade.
Stay not to dirty as even modern brake dust is not to healthy
