Need Help – Timing Chain Repair Crash

Hi there,

I have a 2005 Saturn Vue with a 4Cyl. 2.2l Ecotech Engine.

Replaced the timing chain to instruction video, alldata, online forums and youtube info. Pretty sure I got it right. Check many times and took 100+ photos of all steps and positions. (reviewed all many times)

Turned Engine on, ran for a moment, the died. Chain was on, timing seemed fine at first but then I noticed that one camshaft (exhaust) was out of position. The cloyes drive sprocket sheared its pins off? Compression test shows 3 Cylinders with 60/120/90 (Cyl#1 160Psi)

So I need a new Cylinder head and found some online.

A) Does anybody know the Ecotec 2.2l engine ?
B) Can anybody discuss my timing procedure (I would elaborate) ?

Top dead center. Cam closest to firewall will have i believe the diamond facei.g in the 9 oclock position. Cam near front of car will be arrow in 3 oclock position. Dont make me swear if it diamond or arrow. Going of memory. The attache your wrench to.the cam closest to front end and put tension in the chain. Then put you ratchet on balancer bolt and apply tension to line everything up. Hope this helps with the timeing issue.
