Check the driveshafts, differentials, and Tranny Fluid.

It sounds like you may have a sheared off friction disk. When that happens you have very little connection between the tranny and engine. Do you have any strange noise in the clutch area?

Can you shift it into gear with the engine off? If so then it’s likely a clutch problem. If you can’t shift it into gear with the engine off then it’s likely to be a linkage or transmission problem. Keep us posted.

i am not in any means a expert so be warned but this to me sounds like the tranny is shot could be a number of reasons like others listed below (or above depending on your forum layout) but i think a worn out tranny is a possibility one reason autos are better over all automatics last longer.

I drove a stick once; it was nerve-racking and scary i felt like i had no control over the car; then again i was only moving the car and it was my 1st time behind the wheel of a manual so it could just be me. Although i have heard its easier to do a burn out on a manual 🙂
