        Check and make sure your pressure tester is sealed up good. 1/4 lb is not a whole lot to loose. What is the car doing to make you want to pressure test it?

            +1 and using 18lbs PSI seems rather high as most cooling systems are rated between 14 and 16psi.

            It may be leaking internally. But as said above, what vehicle are you working on and what is the problem?

              If you suspect a leak look for external ones first, if you don’t see then it’s probably just the seal on the tester that leaked down it’s not uncommon. I also agree that it seems that 18psi is a bit high anyway so that might also have something to do with it.
