so i have 2 videos one from the week after the swap and 1 is from about a year and a half after the swap and i have a clicking noise coming from the valve train i did alot of looking around and reading i did a compression test and got 185 on all 4 cylinders i did the drop leak test and there was leakage out the exhaust then checked my timing and it was advanced 15, i fixed an exhaust leak on the down pipe from my header not the same leak i got from the drop leak test i had my header off getting it from the valves, from there i took off the valve cover looked at the cams they both look good everything under the valve cover looked good no excessive wear, im pretty sure i just need to do a valve adjustment i tinkered with one of the valves but ive never done one before or seen it done so i only had what ive read from the internet where i personally like to see things done so i know it works and is correct, but anyhow after i did all the things i did the noise wasn’t as loud but not gone like the video below right after i got the car back and from what Ive seen looking around the internet the amount of videos of Honda with this sound is abundant i cant say how long its been going on, i recently took the subs out of my car to clean the trunk out

so its down to valve adjustment
      LMA replacement (lost motion assembly)
ill also be doing my timing belt and switch to manual tension er

first video is now second old video
and yes look at the power steering pump pulley that’s a running quiet Honda

      so any thoughts, help, advice……..

well just came across one of eric’s honda valve adjustment videos but in this one he starts the car sounds worse than mine but he says it sounds good.
with the lack of comments on this i assume you have no ideas or answers…….

Glad you found that video. That said, there was no audio in the video you had linked unfortunately. At least on my end. BTW solid valve trains (non hydraulic) will be noisy to some extent.

A common cause of noise on those DOHC engines is a loose timing belt. If the belt is loose it will make the cams and distributor noisy. You need to set the tension properly however. I show how with this Civic engine.

            More info here.

Thanks for the response Eric the video that i said was the first week after i got the swap the volume is working turn your speakers up really high you can hear the birds in the back ground thats why i said to watch the power steering pump pulley to see that its actually running. if still no volume then idk but the car was super quite, oh and btw did my first valve lash adjustments today on my h22 i used a 10mm one side 12mm other side wrench with the bendable heads because lack of special tool and worked just fine brought the noise down considerably only prob i ran into was the pcv valve spiting in half so i had to quick fix and plug that vacuum so i could go to work.
