      The Engine and Car Itself

      – 1994 Rover Mini 35 Limited Edition
      – 1275cc
      – 9.4:1 CR
      – Eco Cam (Yuk)
      – Factory HP figure, 50bhp.
      – HIF38 Carburettor
      – Janspeed LCB Exhaust Manifold
      – Alloy Heated Minispares Inlet Manifold

      Plans for the engine

      – Kent 266 Cam
      – HIF44 Carburettor/Or If I find a set of Twin HS4’s.
      – Cylinder Head Ported and Gas-Flowed. Inlet 35.6mm Inlet 20.5mm exhaust
      – The head will be skimmed at the same time by around 40thou, giving a compression ratio (if I’ve worked it out properly) of 10:1
      – Same manifolds
      – Standard Electronic Dizzy

      This should work out at 65-70bhp at the wheels and 80-90 at the Flywheel.

        With just the minor work your talking about, from what ive worked with and have done to my engine. jumping from Compression of 9:4:1 too 10:1 i would assume it needs more work then your talking about. But i maybe wrong

          If you can find a set up, I would go with some headers for better exhaust flow. It doesn’t make much sense to set it up for more air and fuel if you have no way of getting it out of the engine once it is in. Allowing the engine to breath easier in most cases is good for a 10% to 15% increase in over all power on both the top and bottom end. Look in to a better intake manifold and headers. I think you will be happy you did.

            Pays to read the first post.

            In English, it’s an exhaust Manifold, not a header.

            If you read the above, it has a Janspeed LCB manifold. (Long Centre Branch) which will give the optimum exhaust flow for a big bore A-series engine. It also has a water cooled alloy intake manifold.

              Yes I did read the whole post to start. The problem comes in with the wording. Manifold means something completely different to me then it may to you. To help you understand where I was coming from. I will direct you to this link. I apologize for any confusion. I hope this helps explain my comment.
