Hello forum I need some help. My truck is pinging and I need some help on how to fix it. I checked the timing and it was at 9 degrees advanced. It is supposed to be 0. But ive heard the engine runs better at 6 degrees advanced. The engine is a 350 5.7. The truck year is 1994 chevy silverado. Any advice on how to fix this would be a great help. Thanks.

retard your timing, if you have good hearing you can hear the sweet spot when you adjust your timing.

6 degrees is good, but you need to disconnect the timing advance connector next to the blower motor (single wire connector with tan/black stripe wire) behind the glove box first.
