motor oil In radiator

Hi Eric not to familiar to Honda’s its a 96 Honda Civic 1.6 manual trans but have a question seen oil in the Radiator and a top rad hose as ca laps when running and when warm up it expand back to normal I’m thinking something wrong with the engine block like a crack or something but everyone telling me head gasket I cant see being the head gasket because there is no antifreeze or oil in the block thanks for any info Claude from Canada and love all your video Thanks

I have heard on some Hondas you can get oil in the coolant and not the opposite. Has something to do with the pressure feed to the head leaking and since the oil is at a higher pressure than the coolant 40+psi vs 18psi the leak works backwards.

You probably need a headgasket and afterwards I would advise using dishwasher detergent (the powdered Cascade kind used in the dishwashing machines) to get the oil out of the cooling system.

thanks guys for the quick reply no there is no stop leak added in it I quests I’ll have to rip it down to the see if the head gone out really puzzle me because I’ve always seen antifreeze mixes in the crank block or through the exhaust thank you so much for the info guys time to get dirty

Only thing i could guess would be if the head gasket is bad allowing some oil from cylender or oil ports sneak into the coolent, 100% a guess…
