Scion xb 09, 101k miles. Runs fine, no check engine what so ever. It seems that after a warm up run starts to piston knock only when try to maintain 25-35 mph. If i step it will not knock only at maintaining mileage mention before. Change spark plugs, clean throttle body, at idle a little hesitation and possibly over consuming a bit gas. Any feed back would appreciate, don’t know what to do, my only concern at live data scanner is % of throttle body or should be completely close when not in contact with accelerator. Currently at idle %18 throttle, is it ok. Thank ahead for any feed-back.

To articulate on this matter, the car out cold does not knock. It seems that after about almost an hour will knock when maintaining speed from no contact with pedal to maintaining speed up to 35mph. It seems to be a good one to troubleshoot but soon of later will get a code or a mayor breakage or last for ever with the condition. 🙁

Engine noises can be hard to nail down. This article covers the basics of how to go about finding a noise in your engine.

Perhaps check that out and get back to us with what you find.

Good luck and keep us posted.
