I was listening to someone tell a story a while back about how they accidentally put window washer fluid in the transmission fluid and it got me wondering…

What was the most embarrassing mistake you have ever made with your car/cars?

That’s pretty true. I’d rather my car explode than me.

Great thread, haha. Small embarrassing moment that I told my buddy not to tell anyone, ever. I was struggling trying to get a rear sway bar bushing bolt off. I thought it was the northeast salt that rusted this bolt to the subframe so I put more and more force into breaking this sucka loose. *Pop*, finally!! Oh wait, pieces are falling everywhere…

          I was cranking clockwise.

HAHA! I’ve done that before with the screws on the engine block cover. I ended up rounding the damn things. You bet they were fun to get off since I did it to three of them. At that point I thought it would be better just to go inside, sit down for a couple of minutes, then come back to it.

Here recently I was pulling a transaxle and was being lazy by the fact that I hadn’t drained the fluid yet.
Well, I regretted that as soon as I pulled the axle out of the case as I was laying underneath it.

I was working out of town at the time so I had to complete the day and the drive home all lubed up.

You had to drive home covered in fluid? Man that sucks.
