I have installed them on my old car, a 2002 Alero and on my GF’s 2001 Honda Civic. They are great. The ride quality is about the same as OEM, these are NOT performance struts, if you read other forums they whine how there suck. But they are usually performance forums. The bearing plate and everything are decent. The case of the Honda, it seems to that they where heavier duty threads coming off the bearing plate. For ease of install, these things rock! I can swap one of these out in under 30 min. with an impact gun.

Too many cars are coming back for warranty repairs due to leaking shaft. They work well, and feels pretty close to OEM but not reliable and most of therm leaks within a year.

I use them in certain situations. If the spring is sagging/broken, the strut mount is knocking over bumps, or it’s the rear of a newish Ford Explorer or the front of just about every Toyota SUV ever made. Other than that, there’s usually nothing wrong with the spring and the mount. That being said, I work in a shop and we’ve got a spring compressor and access to air tools. If I was working solely in my driveway/garage and/or didn’t have a compressor or air powered equipment, I’d go the Quick-Strut route simply because I like taking the path of least resistance.

I have to agree with the easy install. I’ve done a few of these over the past couple of years because I didn’t have an air compressor or the deathly DIY spring compressor kit. I haven’t had any complaints from my customers, yet..

As I said, I have used these and haven’t had any issues so far.

I now see that Raybestos and MOOG make these as well. Has anyone used these? Are they equal too or better than Monroe?

NAPA has them too under their own brand. Not sure who makes them, but since they cater to shops I would think it’s good quality.
