I switch between syn and non-synth 2 stroke oil all the time depending on whats available I do end up mixing when I add new gas to a partly filled gas tank containing the older stuff and I’ve never had an issue. They both dissolve in the gas anyways.

You can mix synthetic and non-synth with no problems. basically you’re making a synth-blend, but for a cheaper price i’m sure. just don’t mix regular 2 stroke with marine 2 stroke or something like that. They have very different formulas.

Quoted From twiggy02919:I have used leftover outboard motor oil in my 2 stroke lawn equipment and even in my 4 stroke lawn tractor with no ill effects.

that will cause excess carbon and the engine is not designed for it but the piston would get a hole before a valve. i am not sure but i guess it could warp a valve

Thanks for the info guys. Good to know because I don’t want to damage my tractor. Luckily I haven’t run much 2 stroke gas through it.

i wouldn’t worry about running a small amount through it. i will update with how they mix at some point in time.
