      Hello Guys,

I have a Mitsubishi lancer GLX and the original engine has been swap with a Mitsubishi 4G92 MIVEC DOHC Engine.

Recently i have been having cool start problem. When i start my car at cold temperature, the engine starts and it turns off immediately.
As a temporary solution, I hold the accelerator pedal until the engine reaches the idle operating temperature. Unfortunately, I have to do this every time to start my car when the engine is cold. Sometime when it have just reach the idle temperature and there is too much load on the engine (i.e i pressed brake and turn the wheel) the engine goes off.

I have already done these thing:-

      1) Test for Vacuum leaks
      2) Test Fuel Pressure Regulator
      3) Change Oxygen Sensor
      4) Change Idle Sensor
      5) Test MAP Sensor
      6) Already if each cylinder are working properly

Note: There is no Air flow Sensor on engine.

Can you help what other things I can look for or test?

      Hoping to get a response

      Many thanks

You may want to check the coolant sensor. What year is the vehicle?
        Any codes?

The year of the car is 2007. But I have swap the Engine (change the engine).
I guess the engine comes from a Mitsubishi Mirage year 97.
I took it to 2 different garage but non was able to connect to the engine management system.

I had 94 Lancer, but with 4G13 engine who had similar problem. I had it to point where i couldn’t start the car by using starter, i had to push-start the car. And i basically tried everything that you did and nothing helped. And then one day I took off the valve cover, turned the engine and realized that the rocker arms for exhaust valves on two cylinders were out of adjustment. Corrected the adjustment and the engine started on the first turn.

I can’t remember if 4G92 engine had rocker arms or not.

Another common problem for Mitsubishi engines is that the distributors go bad, but if that would be true, the the symptoms would be different.

              Hi,
I have tested the coolant sensor, It seems to be working properly.
Any other thing that can cause this problem?
