Hello I have 2001 Ford Taurus 3.0 ohv that has developed a missfire in cyls. 1-2-3-4-5 mec. found a vac. leak in the intake man. replaced that, $107.00 also replaced coil pack no charge, he had one new that that he had gotten but did not need so he let me have it, new plugs and ing. wires replaced a few months ago it cleared up all of the missfires in 1-2-4-5 but not 3 needed to take wife to work so I had to leave before he could do compression, check, my ? is I cant get back to him until early mon. afternoon, is it ok to drive until then about 80 total miles speeds under 50 mph, runs ok at speed but has steering wheel vibration at idle in park and at stop lights no check eng. light yet, rpms sometimes dip from 700-500 at idle… or should I just rent a car sat, that I really cant afford…please any help would be app. need to know about the rental before noon western time zone….thank you for any help and or advice…

Ultimately the call has to be yours. It is hard to say from the other side of the screen if it will do damage to engine or Cat. The fact that he cleared that much up is great and I hope he works well for you in future. Some thoughts to consider are does the engine Idle/ drive fairly smooth or does it feel very rough, do you smell fuel dumping through exhaust etc. You mentioned you could not afford the rental and I don’t want to put you in that spot. If the above checks feel fine, drive easy and youll probably be ok but if your concerned steal, rent that car and save yours. Best of luck.
